About Steve
Steve Dahlgren has been a photographer for over 30 years, starting out in the newspaper and television business in the 1980’s. Steve has lived in Madison ’s Midvale Heights neighborhood for 18 years. When he is not working as a full-time firefighter he likes to “focus” his attention on dog photography – capturing images of our wonderful canine friends.
Preferring to photograph the amazing personalities of dogs in places where they are most comfortable, Steve does not “do” posed animal portraits or use sets or costumes. And yes, he does photograph cats, horses, lizards, fish, birds and the occasional human too!

Pricing
I like to keep things simple and not try to get caught up in all kinds of packages and whatnot. So here’s what you get for $140:
Now, how about a few details? The price includes locations within Dane County, Wisconsin. Yes, I’m available to travel all over the place but the price will be slightly higher. Additional shooting locations (as in, more than one) are available if you’d like...the price is slightly higher. More than two pets? You guessed it... Feel free to contact me to work out the little stuff.
What about ordering prints? The sky is the limit. Basically, any size print is available from a standard 4x6” up to a huge 30x40” print - you can even order coffee mugs or T-shirts of your favorite dog (or non-dog). You order online, pay with a credit card, and the prints are shipped right to your door. Photos usually are available to order within 3-5 days after your shoot. Printing takes about a day and shipping direct to your door is usually 2-3 days. Best of all, the photo lab guarantees you’ll like the print quality! That's one of the reasons I’ve used them for the last 9 years. If you do not like your print, you may return it to them within 30 days for a full refund.
Photo books are another wonderful idea. We take all your photos and carefully edit them into a custom, glossy, coffee table style book. Since most people don’t have room on their walls for 30 cool pictures of their dog, this is a great way to display them.
